Tenth grade is sort of a "middle of the road" year. It stands somewhere in the middle of the "raw creativity" to "sophisticated thought" continuum which my best writings of each period exhibit. Thus, in some sense, it represents some of my best writing. Particularly, I like the "Slumber Struggle" essay. It shows a playful creativity, but also has some thoughtful symbolism. At the same time, my research paper begins to show some real depth of research and structure. With regard to structure, the writings generally show more structure than the ninth grade writings but are less formalized than those of eleventh grade.
